Magazines, Newspapers, and Trade Journals

Before I became a professional writer, a piece I wrote for a charity organization got picked up by Newsweek Magazine. That unexpected success shocked me when I saw the issue on the newsstands. Then it inspired me to rethink the trajectory of my whole career. I soon quit my corporate sales job and began practicing my writing for 10 hours a day.

My first paid gig was for an arts and entertainment publication. Soon I was hired to write for travel and lifestyle magazines. I wrote columns for daily newspapers, and created a training manual for building contractors. A magazine owner in Germany hired me to edit articles written by contributors from Hong Kong, Spain, and Central America. The magazine was then printed in Switzerland and sold on newsstands in England and the United States…where I was based. What had begun as a hobby turned into a freelance career spanning multiple time zones.

Now writing is a way of life for me, and I love being in the writing zone. Wherever you are, if you’re ready to raise your profile and attract some positive press, let’s strategize and get it done. If you’re running a magazine and need a writer who respects deadlines and never submits an article until it’s print-ready, let me know.
